Milford rips Merrimack Valley, 41-6

Racing to a 21-0 lead and never looking back, the Milford High School football team lifted its Division III record to 2-0 Friday night by trouncing Merrimack Valley, 41-6.

About the only blemish for the Spartans in their first two Division games of the season came in the fourth quarter, when Merrimack Valley scored on Ivan Nyamagabo scored on a 13-yard touchdown run, the first points Milford has allowed to a Division III opponent. Otherwise, it was all Spartans.

Joe Albina rushed for 114 yards on just 11 carries, rushing for two touchdowns and scoring a third on a pass from quarterback Harrison Urda.

Mitchell Banuskevich broke loose for a 61-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter, following a 3-yard TD run by Tyler Cooney and a 16-yard TD run by Urda.

The Spartans built a 34-0 lead by the end of the first half and coasted in from there.

Milford travels to Peterborough next Friday night to fave Con Val, which is still looking for its first win of the season.
